The Message of Rotary
Rotary is an organization of business and professional people united worldwide to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
Rotary achieves these goals in the following way:
Friendship
By fostering friendship as an opportunity to be of service to others;
Ethics
By upholding high ethical standards in personal and professional life, and recognizing the worthiness of every occupation that is useful to the community;
Responsibility
By encouraging responsible personal, business and public conduct on the part of all Rotarians;
Peace and understanding
By fostering goodwill, understanding and peace among nations through a world fellowship of working people united in the ideal of service.
Of all the things we think, say or do, we should ask ourselves:
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Only a positive answer to all four questions gives us the right to count ourselves among Rotarians.
And now, give yourself a moment and focus on your main idea for this Rotary week. Direct your energy toward achieving the goals you have set in life, in business, in science, in your country and in your Rotary club.
